is a Vietnam veteran contemplating suicide. Second photo is from a 1997 episode of Early Edition ("The Medal"), where husband Lou Gossett, Jr. The first shot is a frame grab from her IMDb acting reel, where she is worriedly conversing with her teen-aged daughter from (probably) a TV series. As luck would have it, he highlighted Gay in one shot, as Gay portrayed the "3rd Girl Warrior."įemale Warriors - TV series Battlestar Galactica S1E02įurther tastes of Gay in screen action are below. That was my cue to travel to DTravel's massive VEF thread on that show (and other "Battlestar Galactica" shows), and I knew his incredible effort would pay off. She became a screen queen for the first time in 1978, and it was (impressively) for big-time television, Battlestar Galactica. While actively modeling (note the year on the cover for Essence Magazine, above: 1979), Gay started to test the waters with acting. It was an obligation.) Modeling was the first stage for Gay's show business experience: Since Gay has never been referred to in these parts, I figured looking into her was called for. Those sleepy bedroom eyes were on her face when she was younger, too! When I went about learning more, I ran into this shot. Somehow, she was able to tell he was not impervious to her charms. This lady was sexy.Ī look is exchanged between Gay's nurse and Tony Soprano. When Gay Thomas Wilson came on the screen in her 2002 role of a nurse in television's hit gangster series The Sopranos (she would reprise the role one more time, a few episodes later), the screen lit up. This is the post that begat the two prior posts from above and the bottom of page 327, featuring actresses who displayed themselves in Model Behavior (1982), and the post I had in mind to offer. Laine's appearance in a 1984 Playboy pictorial was referenced by Member "Rgceleblover" in 2016, but unfortunately an exact match with the redheaded woman from the film did not lead to a "Eureka" moment. (She's listed second-to-last in R.S.V.P.'s end credits, implying a very minor role - so one would have needed to watch the film carefully to spot her, instead of fast-forwarding, as I needed to do.) So I did my duty and got my hands on a copy, but Laine, in her role of "Katherine" in R.S.V.P. (1984), which has a VEF thread, and a download that still worked. The other film for Laine Jastram is R.S.V.P. I tried to cross-reference with their other works to pin them down, but each lady has only one other film to their credit. They both emoted quite capably by the way, so what a pity their acting careers went nowhere.) Both also had speaking parts, increasing the odds for them to be listed somewhat prominently in the credits, as they were. (Both were identified by the names "Roxanne" and "Anita" maybe the reason for the "Anita" name wasn't a coincidence, although Anita Russell's character's name was Roxanne, and not Anita. So that doesn't make them showgirls, which means the following names may be inaccurate.Īnita Russell ( ) is (apparently) the blonde, and Laine Jastram ( ) is (apparently) the brunette/redhead.Īs far as I could see from the end credits, these two can't be anyone else. Unfortunately, their characters were listed as "Showgirl #1" and "Showgirl #2," and the scene they were featured in has a Texan-type who picks up both. Problem: from the end credits, I needed to make an educated guess as to their identities. So these two lovelies appeared, and they were also presented in the nude, which meant I couldn't let them slide. ![]() This film is about an aspiring photographer and his friend who get into the world of high fashion, I suppose (at least partly) to make good with the girls, but little does at least one of them realize that love will soon beckon. I needed to dig up Model Behavior from 1982, during the reference hunting process for the actress to be featured two posts later.
